Lead Software Engineer

At SturdyAI we are building an omni-channel B2B enterprise SaaS platform that refines business-critical signals mined from customer communications content. We integrate customer content sources (like, tickets, email, chat) and use AI/ML to find important signals (like “Potential Churn”, “Upsell” and “Feature Request”). We then broadcast these signals to people, workflows, and BI tools.

We are looking for a self-directed software engineering leader who is capable of architecting and building great software while considering the requirements of the technology as well as the needs of the end user. You will receive mainly high-level architectural direction and review. However, you will not be left alone; we encourage team problem solving and discussion. As well as writing great software, you will be an important resource to the software team, and you will mentor junior developers. Responsibilities

• Independently design and build software and collaborate with fellow software engineers to review and complete tasks
• Architect components which are used by multiple developers with impact on a significant part of the environment
• Write excellent back-end code, mostly in Python, which may connect to external APIs, create internal APIs, or process and manage data in the Sturdy environment
• Work in a continually changing and improving startup environment, contributing strongly to continuous improvement
• Mentor junior software developers with the potential to manage a small team

Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (ability to communicate in technical terms and still be human)
• The desire and ability to learn quickly
• Experience with multiple software development environments and tools
• 10 Years of software development experience
• Experience mentoring software developers
• Bachelor of Science (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Experience

• Experience building SaaS applications
• Experience with our technology stack: Javascript/TypeScript, Angular, Python, FastAPI, Postgres, Docker, AWS
• Experience with a testing framework, and writing complete, maintainable tests
• Experience using, designing, and building RESTful APIs
• Software development management experience
