Full Job Description
This is a full time position that is responsible for providing day-to-day support to the company within the Information Technology department. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
This position is responsible for:
- Assisting with maintaining Microsoft, MySQL, and Oracle primary and standby databases and application server software by applying updates and patches for databases and applications.
- Cloning of Oracle Applications and Databases.
- Assisting with managing security and content of system and application databases.
- Managing and maintaining backups and restores for all Servers and Client machines (Desktop’s Laptop’s and VDI’s)
- Rotating backup tapes to and from offsite and onsite storage.
- Ability to maintain sound backup and recovery policies/procedures.
- Ability to manage server hosts and virtual machines in VMware and Oracle Linux Virtualization environments.
- Cloning of Virtual Servers within VMware and Oracle Linux Virtualization environments
- Assisting with maintaining Microsoft Windows Server, Oracle Linux, and VMware VDI/Server operating systems by applying updates and patches as needed.
- Creating and maintaining system automation scripts to include Linux bash and Windows PowerShell.
- Assisting in coordinating system and application upgrades, etc. with system administrators, developers, and users.
- Performing other value added tasks such as user support, test scenarios, and help maintain documentation libraries.
- As needed working after normal business hours for on-call rotation and applying Updates, Patches, etc…
Minimum requirements include:
- An Associate’s degree in computer science or related field with knowledge of all types of computer and communication equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without supervision.
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
